“Ma’am, can I eat Roti?” This is the #1 question I get asked during consultations. Somewhere along the way, we started believing that our traditional Indian wheat—the food of our ancestors—is the enemy. We started replacing Phulkas with expensive salads and “Keto” meals that we can’t sustain for more than a month.
I am here to challenge that.
Welcome to the 30-Day Ghar Ka Khana Reset. This is not a crash diet. This is a return to your roots. I challenge you to lose weight for the next 30 days without starving, without supplements, and yes, while eating Roti.
Why This Works
The problem isn’t the Roti; it’s the quantity and the timing. This challenge fixes your metabolism by using the food already in your kitchen.
The 4-Week Progression
Week 1: The Hydration & Sleep Fix
Most “hunger” is actually thirst or exhaustion.
- Task: Drink 2.5 Liters of water daily.
- Task: Sleep by 11:00 PM. No scrolling in bed.
- Diet: Normal home food, but stop eating after 8:30 PM.
Week 2: The “Plate Ratio” Shift
We usually eat 3 Rotis and little Sabzi. We are flipping the ratio.
- Task: Reduce Roti by 1. (If you eat 3, eat 2).
- Task: Double your Sabzi or Dal portion. Your plate should be 50% vegetables/dal and 25% Roti.
- Diet: Switch to Multigrain Atta (Add Chana or Jau flour to your wheat).
Week 3: The Sugar Detox
- Task: No refined sugar. No biscuits, no soda, no mithai.
- Substitute: If you crave sweet, have a piece of Jaggery (Gur) or a Date (Khajoor) after meals.
Week 4: The Movement Multiplier
- Task: You don’t need a gym. Just do a 20-minute brisk walk after your dinner every single night. This aids digestion and lowers blood sugar spikes.
Who is this for?
This challenge is for the busy Delhi professional, the housewife managing a home, and the student tired of complex diets. It’s for anyone who wants to lose weight permanently.
